It’s well known fact: flying for long hours on an airplane can leave you looking less than your best. For some people this isn’t really a big deal at all-they’re perfectly fine with looking a wee bit frumpy, but for many females who are looking forward to being greeted by a significant other, this can be a rather distressing fact. The increased security measures restricting the carriage of any high volume of liquids onto the airplane further complicates the matter, as now most females cannot simply bring their makeup “essentials” with them since they need to prioritize that limited liquid room for more vital issues, like contact lens solution. However, for anyone who is travelling and wants to freshen up a bit in the bathroom prior to meeting their greeting party, here are a few helpful hints on how to do so, without requiring the use of an extensive makeup supply.
Invest in a small, convenient-to-carry comb or brush for your purse. An easy and inexpensive remedy to matted hair or oily looking bangs is a quick run through with a comb. This will leave your tresses looking well-cared for and will leave you looking very put-together. Although a quick running of your fingers through your hair will help tame it and add a bit of volume to it, a comb or brush will do the trick much more thoroughly. Additionally, a comb will be best for coaxing the hair of your bangs into cooperating with your wishes without clumping together.
Between the stress of traveling and the not-so-fresh air of the airplane cabin, flying often leaves your facial skin looking oily. Instead of investing in a set of oil removing facial sheets, stop by an airport restroom on your way between your gate and the baggage claim and grab an unused (clean) toilet seat cover. The material of these seat covers is great for absorbing oil-a fact that will become very clear once you swipe your forehead with one of them. Since many people might not know of this helpful little trick, there’s a pretty good chance that you’ll get your fair share of strange looks if you do this in public; to avoid this, just wipe off your forehead while in the stall and check the results in the mirror as you leave the restroom.
Finally, if you have room in your allotted “liquid” volume left, use that room that for your favorite lip gloss. Freshly glossed lips can brighten up your whole face and this is much more practical for travelling purposes than doing a complete makeover. Additionally, most lip glosses come in small enough volumes that they can be carried onto an airplane, unlike some other products such as hand lotions.
